Description of CD279 Recombinant Protein
General information on CD279 Recombinant Protein:
CD279 (programmed cell death protein 1; PD-1) is a type I transmembrane protein that belongs to the CD28 / CTLA-4 family of immune receptors, which mediates signals that regulate immune responses. Members of the CD28 / CTLA-4 family have been shown to promote T cell activation (CD28 and ICOS) or deactivate T cell activation (CTLA-4 and PD-1). CD279 is expressed on activated T cells, B cells, bone marrow cells, and some thymocytes. In vitro, CD279 binding can prevent TCR-mediated T cell proliferation and the production of IL-1, IL-4, IL-10, and IFN-?. Furthermore, the binding of CD279 can also prevent BCR signaling. CD279-deficient mice have defective peripheral tolerance and spontaneously develop autoimmune diseases.
