Lineage B.1.1.529.2 was reported to WHO in January 2022 and had a rapid breakthrough in the Denmark and India. This variant of SARS-CoV-2 is derived from the OMicron lineage B.1.529.2 and bears a high number of mutations on the spike protein, and especially receptor binding domain (RBD).
