Each chain contains a variable region that is specific for the target antigen, and a constant region that is responsible for binding to the B-cell receptor and other molecules involved in the immune response.

The M1R monoclonal antibody binds to the surface of the monkeypox virus, preventing it from entering the cells of the host organism. This prevents the virus from replicating and spreading, thus providing protection against infection.
