FagoFlowEx™ Kit for Analysis of Neutrophil Oxidative Burst

The FagoFlowEx™ Kit is designed for the examination of the oxidative (respiratory) burst of neutrophil granulocytes following stimulation with Escherichia coli bacteria in human heparinized whole blood. The assay enables the evaluation of neutrophil activation by measuring the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) generated during the respiratory burst.

Neutrophils are key components of the innate immune system and contribute to host defense through rapid responses to microbial stimulation. Analysis of the oxidative burst provides valuable information regarding the functional activity of neutrophils in experimental studies involving immune response and host–pathogen interactions.

The FagoFlowEx™ Kit is optimized for flow cytometry analysis, allowing researchers to evaluate neutrophil activation in a controlled and reproducible experimental workflow.

Biological Background

Neutrophil granulocytes play a central role in the innate immune response against invading microorganisms. Upon stimulation by bacterial components such as E. coli, neutrophils undergo a metabolic activation known as the respiratory burst, leading to the production of reactive oxygen species.

These reactive oxygen species contribute to microbial killing and represent an important marker of neutrophil functional activity. Measurement of oxidative burst responses is widely used in research studying:

  • innate immune responses
  • neutrophil activation mechanisms
  • inflammatory processes
  • host–pathogen interactions

Flow cytometry–based assays provide a sensitive method for analyzing these cellular responses in experimental samples.

Applications

The FagoFlowEx™ Kit is suitable for research applications involving:

  • analysis of neutrophil oxidative burst
  • studies of neutrophil activation mechanisms
  • evaluation of innate immune responses
  • research on host–pathogen interactions
  • flow cytometry–based analysis of immune cell function

Researchers studying neutrophil activation and immune responses may also benefit from ProteoGenix expertise in custom antibody production, and recombinant protein production for assay development and validation.

FagoFlowEx™ Kit Price

ProteoGenix offers competitive pricing for flow cytometry assay kits used in immunology research. Each kit provides reagents sufficient for 100 tests, enabling efficient analysis of multiple samples within experimental workflows.
