    What is SPR?

    Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) is a powerful technique used in biochemistry and molecular biology to study the interactions between proteins and other molecules. It is based on the phenomenon of plasmon resonance, which occurs when light is scattered off a metal surface. SPR works by measuring the change in refractive index of a solution when it is exposed to light at a specific frequency. This change in refractive index can be used to measure the binding of a target protein to an immobilized ligand or antibody.

    How Does SPR Work?

    SPR works by immobilizing a ligand or antibody on a sensor chip. The chip is then exposed to a solution containing the target protein. If the target protein binds to the immobilized ligand or antibody, the refractive index of the solution changes. This change in refractive index is measured by a detector and used to calculate the affinity of the interaction.

    Choosing the Right Antibodies for SPR

    When choosing antibodies for SPR, it is important to consider the following factors:
    • Antibody specificity: It is important to select an antibody that is specific for the target protein. Non-specific antibodies can lead to false-positive results.
